It's been forever ago! But, I really want to keep things up-to-date on our family happenings! Or, not-so-happenings! That's what August pretty much was like. Kinda boring month for this family! Golden State Surf Co. has been booming with summer busy-ness, which leaves family time to a bare minimum and little pictures to post here! But we do our best to keep things interesting! hehe I'm so blessed to say, that most of our month was spending time with our close friends and family! LOVE catching up with people over good food and awesome conversation! And a little randomness, catching a moment of Keane that just melts my heart. He's so incredibly handsome-well, I think so, of course! ;) Oh man, I just love this! Boys playing "beach" in our tiny apartment with a giant beach umbrella, while torturing Chia! lol. These were most of our days for August! Relaxing times with friends and family! Can't complain, really! haha! God is so good to us!! A little worship for your day.... great song, and just amazing views of the lake in Redding. Sigh, lucky to say I grew up here. God's creation is beyond amazing.

So since I didn't really share what we did in May, thought I'd do an entry of the month in review! Boys DayWhile we were in Hawaii, Keane was introduced to a miniature golf course, but we didn't have the time to take him in, so he's been begging to go golfing! Boys day we took him to the only miniature golfing course within a 30 mile radius of us! We had a great time!! Fun With FriendsKai is 7 MonthsFamily Fun!This cool space is at a street exhibit from the LACMA called "Urban Lights"! It's a magnet for tourist and locals and their photo ops as you can see in the background! Thought we'd have a family outing and do our own photo taking! Keane loved running and weaving through the light poles! Of course, we had to get ice cream before, so he had a sugar high to burn off! We had a couple days to escape for Memorial Day! Amazingly, we had our very first family vacation- JUST US!!! So, we loaded up in the car and headed to Palm Springs!! Three days all to ourselves! NO AGENDA, just pool time, yummy food and a little visit to the zoo!! It was perfect!! And just what we needed!! Laine has a lot of footage from his gopro in the pool! I'm sure an amazing video is yet to come! I will be posting that as soon as I'm allowed! A Beautiful WeddingIt's wedding season! Our dear friends had a beautiful wedding last week! Keane and Chia walked down the isle together, and Laine played a hymn during the ceremony! The whole family was involved! We had such a great time! May came and went, just like every other month! Summer is officially here!! We have a busy summer scheduled! Hopefully, I'll be able to do some posts more often to keep things interesting!
Love and Blessings, Furukawa Family! My moms camera had tons of great pictures from her visit when Kai was born. Yes, it was a month ago already, but they are such great memories, I have to share!! Visit with Auntie KelliChurch Fun Eventbounce house with Maddy and Auntie Juhee Just us girls messing around! I LOVE MY SWEET FRIEND!!! Meet with Family for Dinner and Downtown Disney FunDowntown disney's lego store. Keane had a hard time leaving. He still asks to go there almost everyday! Baby Kai Comes Into the WorldKeane gets a little gift from his baby brother! Furukawa Grandparents Visit and Meet KaiOne last goodbye to Aunt Sheryl. So glad they got to meet Kai before heading home! My crazy boy at the play area! Working on his ninja/superhero moves! I know, so many pictures!! But all the more fun to look at my precious family! How blessed we are with so much wonderful people in our lives to pray for us and support us! Now, our family has grown from three to four and a new journey has begun!
Dear Jesus, How you have filled my heart with so much love, beyond what I thought was possible! Thank you, God, for our precious boys and surrounding family. I pray that we will continue to be good servants with what you have blessed us with and that we will be honoring and glorifying your name through these things! ~Amen We normally don't do Halloween, but when you have a two year old who is a fanatic about Spiderman, it's hard to pass the fun! This year, we had two weekends of fun, since apparently Los Angeles celebrates Halloween the week before and the week of! The elementary school down the street from us had a Halloween fair, so we crashed it and made the Spiderman costume debut! As the week went on, he was determined to wear his costume constantly! But how fun is it to see a little boy running around in his favorite thing?!? I LOVE IT! practicing being a superhero at the mall playground We actually did pumpkins this year since Keane is all into pumpkins right now (they are everywhere so how can he not be?) (Just like his mama:)). Finally on Halloween, we took Keane to a local park that had a Halloween event! He played for literally 4 hours between hay mazes and bounce houses and train rides, food, games and everything else! He throughly made the most of his holiday! Hope you all had a safe and fun Halloween!!
love, love, Jessica These are pretty outdated since I haven't been pregnant for over 3 weeks! HA! But, Laine just finished editing them and they turned out really great! We went to a park in north west LA (Malibu) area called Paramount Ranch Park. It's so cool!! It's a mini "wild west" town with trails all around. It actually is the set for many movies and shows including Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman! Anyway, we hung out for a little while and got some shots! Enjoy!
yeah, another John Mayer mention, but I was listening to this song and thinking how crazy fast it's all going! John is talking about getting older and blah, blah (honestly John, maybe it's time to grow up) but I'm looking at this train going through life as a parent and daughter and it does hit you hard! It's not pretty, but we are all getting older. Just look at the last year of blog entries... how can I say what I am trying to say? It's like the dance I sway with my son in my arms, back and forth, back and forth to a soft song in a comforting way is the same dance we did together when he was just born, and now we do it together after he's entering his toddler years and it will be the same dance we do someday at his wedding. It's a train that just hits you hard, and it never stops. So we have to enjoy every quick second that happens right now! EMO MOMENT!! HAHA!! Well, we spent 2 hours at the park today!!! He loved it!! BUT, while we were there he got called a girl twice! WHAT?!? Does he seriously look that feminine? That was a first! Maybe it's time for a hair cut! ha! When we got home, Keane helped me clean!! What a great helper!! I think every mother loves this moment when their kids actually enjoy helping cleaning! We had to take a family photo for our church directory! It was a fun at home project. Anyway, here's a black/white version! Turned out ok! Considering it was pretty late and Keane was sooooo tired!!
This little family is getting busy these days! It's summer time now and that means Laine is officially out at the beach almost everyday! And that puts Keane and I at Washing Spot everyday! So, we are all pretty exhausted! I haven't really been taking any pics lately, so I thought some random ones from moms visit and other fun shots would be good. This little clip just makes me melt! Keane is so entertained with Chia's playing and Chia is enjoying her new friend! They really are learning to get along. He LOVES her!! Everytime she comes around, he stops everything to watch her and try to get her attention. So cute!! And this little clip is from Washing Spot. She loves TREATS!! And just the word makes her do crazy things you wouldn't think a dog could do! HA!! But I just love her little lion hair cut! Our groomer did a great job!! These past few weeks have been full of business fun! Washing Spot has been getting very busy- PTL! And Laine is working on some new projects for Golden State this summer! Life just keeps moving right along and Keane is growing and getting bigger everyday! Now for some picture fun! What a crazy weekend it was! Friday, we left for San Diego and what shoulda've been a 2.5 hour trip ended up being almost 4 hours!! Right when we were leaving our place it started raining, which is never a good sign! If there's rain, there's traffic! It cleared up when we got to Irvine, but by this time, traffic rush was at it's fullest all the way to our destination. NOT FUN! When we finally got there, I had just missed the rehearsal! I pulled up right when they were finished! So we went to dinner and enjoyed the rest of our time there. Saturday started at 8:00 a.m. and was a very long day! Our hotel was in this adorable area of S.D. called Little Italy and for lunch, Laine brought me the best meatball sandwich I've ever had in my life from a deli where they pack their own meat! SO GOOD!! After hair and makeup, pictures were at 2:30 and ceremony was around 3:45. It was a beautiful day! NOT KIDDING! One of the most perfect weather days I've seen in a while. Not too hot, breezy and not a cloud in the sky! The location was a beach park in the harbor so there were all these amazing boats around. It was so nice! Here's some of Laine's shots right after the ceremony: This was one of the three flower girls. She is Cherry's (the brides) niece. She was not happy during the ceremony until the recession, then she was all smiles and playing with bubbles. She was so cute! I LOVED our bouquets! They were callalillies and orchids and little white feathers! So pretty!! The other flower girl enjoying the bubbles. She is Bill's (the grooms) niece. Cherry was and IS so beautiful! He dress was so cute and she was just stunning! Next we headed back to our hotel for the reception. They had a rooftop set up with cabana's and an amazing view of the ocean! Plus the weather was just so perfect! Laine got this amazing picture of the sunset. Totally reminds me of the song John Mayer sings called 3x5 only it talks about sunrise not sunset... "shoulda seen that sunrise with your own eyes. It brought me back to life" Ayway, point is, a picture can't capture how beautiful that night was. It was awesome! The happy couple! Bill and Cherry off to play in the photo booth! It was really fun! They had the photo booth and then used those pics for their guest book! It was so cute!! And a lot of fun! We got home yesterday morning since Laine had to be at the church by 9:00 a.m. and after a really long day at church, we came home and took a nice long nap, watched the newest transformers movie and then went straight back to bed! We needed the rest!! Laine just got his new camera last week and here are a few pics that he's been messing around with. Our sweet little girl. Shes such a princess! Whenever she saw Laine playing with the camera, NO JOKE, she would go straight to him and look at him, or pose, or lay down all pretty!! SO FUNNY!! baby bump! |
