There's not too much to report about January for our family! We had a nice visit with my parents for the first couple days of the year. They came with enough gifts to spoil a small village and it's now all crammed into my cute little apartment! While they were here, they were kind enough to watch the boys for us so we could take a little date night for our 6th wedding anniversary! We were so excited to see Wicked for the first time! It was awesome!!! I LOVED IT!!! Videos of Kai!! Keane has been learning a lot of scripture lately! Here is Psalm 119:105 "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Thanks for checking in with the Furukawa's! Sorry for the website looking a little funky, we are working on a big update! Hopefully will be up soon!

I thought since I haven't done an entry about our Christmas yet, maybe it might be nice to share a couple fun moments. Here's a little clip of my wittle guy cooing away at 8 weeks. Keane loves to sing his little songs to his favorite shows. And I love to catch him in the act. (The mess was a little rubber stamping art fun!) We have a family tradition actually passed down from when I was a kid! We can open one Christmas present on Christmas Eve. Of course, Pastor Yvonnes pretty wrapped present has been screaming at Keane since it got there, so he was very quick to pick it! Christmas Day!! Keane and Kai raked in some good stuff!! It was a very blessed day!
Sorry for the delay in updates! December was a fun filled month! Keane's birthday, Disneyland and Christmas!!! Our first visit to Disneyland during the holidays! It was magical as ever! My mom came for the fun and brought our niece, Amia! toontown funprincess bananzaUmmmmmm, wow! I actually didn't realize this was only going to be about Disneyland, but I guess between all of us, there are a lot of pics! We had such a great time, obviously! Can't wait to go back!!!
Disneyland FOREVER!!! I will have to do a separate post for the rest of our fun month!! Until then. xox WHAT?!? It's been 3 years?? How is this happening? Before I get all mushy on you and turn into a sob fest mother over here, let me share the fun little celebration we had on Monday! Earlier that day we did what everyone else would do on the first day of December, we got our tree!! And a sweet mini celebration with friends at church! These three years have just gone too fast! We praise God everyday for our oldest sweet son! These past three years have been the best of our lives and it just gets better with time! Keane is such a truly kind hearted person with a great sense of humor and fun spirit! What a wonderful blessing he is in our lives!!
Happy birthday, WE LOVE YOU KEANE xoxox My family had to say goodbye to my sweet Papalew last week. My dads dad was such a fun man! As a kid, my memories of him include him and Mamalew taking us to the zoo and playing at the park and riding bikes! I know he loved his grandkids! We all have a special place for him in our hearts. The hardest part was seeing my dad and Mamalew go through the process of losing him. My heart goes to them and my Aunts who have to know their father is no longer with us. With heavy hearts, we headed up north to Redding to spend time with family and attend services for Papalew. We were a little nervous about taking a newborn on the road, but Kai did absolutely GREAT! And we made good time!! We had lunch with my sweet friend! And her adorable kiddies! Keane and Rio are a little less than a year apart and they are just so cute together!!! We loved playing with the idea that their friendship would someday blossom to something more. Although, they have no idea what we're giggling about! HAHA! I had an eye dr. appointment while I was in town and I had to play with the frames and the kiddos!! Amia LOVES her new cousin!! We had a little family photo shoot at the lake. Can't really share the good ones, but here is some teasers and pics of the kids! Casey's birthday!! So glad it worked out that we could be there and celebrate with him! Papalew's Celebration of LIfeThe kids playing around We had sometime that night for dinner and relax time with family. My cousin is having her first baby and since I was in town, I got to crash her shower! It was so BEAUTIFUL-just perfect for a beautiful mother-to-be! The visit did go pretty fast and it was hard to have to say goodbye! We truly love our family in Redding and hope to get another visit soon and with happier circumstances! Getting a little big of play time in before we hit the road.
Since I have been busy being exhausted trying to recover from having a baby, Laine has been extra awesome with helping keeping Keane busy!! Laine took Keane to the zoo for a toddler class they offer there! Looked like they had a great time! We had the energy to do a little family trip to the mall and Keane got to ride the train they have for the holidays! It's so funny to see him just go around in this tiny circle! This video is a little old since Kai is now 6 weeks!! But I still have to share!! Just a short little update, but I am working on a big one from our Redding trip we just returned from! Stay tuned!!
Blessings, Jessica My moms camera had tons of great pictures from her visit when Kai was born. Yes, it was a month ago already, but they are such great memories, I have to share!! Visit with Auntie KelliChurch Fun Eventbounce house with Maddy and Auntie Juhee Just us girls messing around! I LOVE MY SWEET FRIEND!!! Meet with Family for Dinner and Downtown Disney FunDowntown disney's lego store. Keane had a hard time leaving. He still asks to go there almost everyday! Baby Kai Comes Into the WorldKeane gets a little gift from his baby brother! Furukawa Grandparents Visit and Meet KaiOne last goodbye to Aunt Sheryl. So glad they got to meet Kai before heading home! My crazy boy at the play area! Working on his ninja/superhero moves! I know, so many pictures!! But all the more fun to look at my precious family! How blessed we are with so much wonderful people in our lives to pray for us and support us! Now, our family has grown from three to four and a new journey has begun!
Dear Jesus, How you have filled my heart with so much love, beyond what I thought was possible! Thank you, God, for our precious boys and surrounding family. I pray that we will continue to be good servants with what you have blessed us with and that we will be honoring and glorifying your name through these things! ~Amen We normally don't do Halloween, but when you have a two year old who is a fanatic about Spiderman, it's hard to pass the fun! This year, we had two weekends of fun, since apparently Los Angeles celebrates Halloween the week before and the week of! The elementary school down the street from us had a Halloween fair, so we crashed it and made the Spiderman costume debut! As the week went on, he was determined to wear his costume constantly! But how fun is it to see a little boy running around in his favorite thing?!? I LOVE IT! practicing being a superhero at the mall playground We actually did pumpkins this year since Keane is all into pumpkins right now (they are everywhere so how can he not be?) (Just like his mama:)). Finally on Halloween, we took Keane to a local park that had a Halloween event! He played for literally 4 hours between hay mazes and bounce houses and train rides, food, games and everything else! He throughly made the most of his holiday! Hope you all had a safe and fun Halloween!!
love, love, Jessica He's here! And makes me oh so happy!! My heart has just been overflowing with emotion of blessings! My sweet two year old is so full of life and fun and makes me laugh and has such a big heart. Then I have another baby boy who couldn't scream for hours to make me mad (although I'd rather not test that theory). He's a lot more communicative than his older brother was at this age (3 weeks already?!?!??) which I actually enjoy, but it brings a new level of exhaustion to the house and we are ALL adjusting to the changes (even Chia!). How it HappenedI actually like to start my story the night before I went into labor. We went to downtown Disney to meet some family from Alaska for dinner! It was a really nice visit with some great family and then we cruised downtown Disney for a couple hours. We got home safely that night with only a few small contractions and was tucked in and sleeping by midnight! But around 5 the next morning, I started having full blown contractions and an hour later, we were on our way to the hospital! Only 8 hours of labor and 1 hour and 15 minutes of pushing later, when we got to meet our new baby boy!!! We were so blessed with friends visiting, sending food and gifts, and helping with Keane! We had a lot of visitors around the time he was born, so I have more pics to post! And my moms camera has most of the really good shots, so I might be posting some more of the hospital, etc... hopefully I'll be doing another post soon!!
