Keane had his first month well check up today! He has gained a whopping 4 lbs in the last 4 weeks! And grown 3 inches! He's 9 lbs. 9 oz. and 22 inches long! Amazingly, that's what Laine was when he was born!!!! HAHA!! Well, our sweet son is faithfully gaining a pound a week! Keane after a feeding and nap and a great Dr.'s check up! We've also been spending a lot of time at Washing Spot! We're celebrating our one week since opening, today! Everyday we have more customers than the day before and word is spreading about us. People have been stopping by regularly and sharing how excited they are that we are here and open! We still have a lot of marketing to do. There are tons of great animal owners in our area that we still need to reach and we're trying to come up with great ways of telling people about us! Keane has been a great sport and coming to help a lot too ;) I got a shot of him chillin' at the shop in the bouncy chair our biz partner Liz got him....

That's right! No more excuses! Our store has opened after over a year of delays of legal issues, financial cutbacks, and outrageous city charges! We are so excited! I love being there even though we've only had one doggie customer, and it was Chia- HAHA! We are off to a very slow start! But we're hoping after this weekend, things will pick up. Can't wait to see where God takes Washing Spot! Keane has been smiling for us! It truly is the best feeling in the world to see the little guy glow with his sweet dimples! And the sweetest feeling is right after he gets done with a bath. I love it! He's super soft and happy. I had to capture the moment... Please pray for our business as we learn how to run it, as well as just God's blessing! God is so good!!!
I had to share this cute little video of Keane! I can't stop watching it! haha He's at his 5 week mark today! His little neck muscles are getting super strong and he's holding his head up. And we can't get enough of his sweet coo's and grunts! I'm such a proud mommy!! We also celebrated our 3 year anniversary on the 3rd! Which wasn't too exciting since we didn't want to really leave the house. So, we rented Kung Fu Panda 2 and got take out! It was so nice! =) We all passed out on the couch together watching the movie. I LOVE MY FAMILY! On the business end of things, Washing Spot is making it's opening debut this week!! That's right! And it only took 15 months to do it! Ugh! Rediculousness! But, God has provided and brought us to this point and we are so excited to have gotten through the craziness! Now, here we are! Laine will be working for me while I stay home for now with Keane. Can't wait to share how it will go! Until next time... This past New Year's Eve was one of the few that I didn't get the chance to go back home. It's always strange to me how opposite Hawaii is from the mainland. For instance, come 4th of July in Hawaii no one really does anything. I mean we do celebrate and take note of the significance of the date but no where near the way the mainland does. Another example would be New Year's Eve - here in the mainland it's so dead and almost eerily calm, it reminds me even more of how I miss home. There's no keikis screaming and running around, the occasional bottle rocket popping off, mom getting drunk on non-alcoholic sparkling cider, and dad readying the hose for the "Furukawa RED DRAGON". Speaking of the "RED DRAGON", in Hawaii we DO fireworks and I don't mean your fun little sparklers..ha. Check out this vid of our countdown for last New Year's Eve. I have to admit it can get out of hand but since the state decided on a strict ban of any aerial fireworks and dubbing last year's nye as the "last one" you can only imagine what everyone in Hawaii was thinking..."let's go all out then!" I'm glad we taped it being that it will most-likely be a memory and the end of a family tradition....or will it? ;P
kung hei fat choi!, Laine ps - i just realized i wore the same shirt last nye as I did this nye. someone has a favorite shirt. ha. Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years! We were so blessed this year with the family visiting! It was a great time of hanging out and lots of yummy eating. It was some well needed fellowship for all of us! HAPPY ONE MONTH TO OUR SON!! Can't believe it's been a month! Keane is growing and healthy! He's just blowing us away every day with his sweet coo's, and his overall awesomeness ;) Being that his one month birthday fell on New Years, we thought we'd do a quick visit with our neighors, the Toni/y's and crash their New Years Eve Party! Keane, of course, got lots of attention from his Aunties and Uncles!! We are excited to see how he's doing at our next check up and will keep you all posted on the info!
Love you all and God Bless!! |
